Clouds, which had been leaving without rain for a few days, finally rained in Delhi-NCR on Thursday. In Delhi-NCR, it started raining heavily with strong wind early in the morning. Due to which people got relief from the heat and humidity. The Meteorological Department says that only light rain is expected till July 2.

Monsoon arrived in Delhi well in advance. People were expecting that the monsoon rains would continue, but different colors of rain are being seen in Delhi. Light rain in two to three areas and sunshine in some areas. People are waiting for heavy rain.
According to the Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature in Delhi on Wednesday was one degree below normal at 36.4 degrees and the minimum temperature was also one degree below normal at 27.1 degrees. Delhi recorded an average rainfall of 000.1 mm, while Palam received 013.8 mm of rain, Ayanagar 024.6 mm and Najafgarh 002.0 mm from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm. Rest of the areas yearned for rain.
Delhi has received 79.5 mm of rain since June 1 till now at Safdarjung, the standard centre. The department has predicted partly cloudy sky and light rain on Thursday as well.
